Alvin Floyd Joyner

Alvin Floyd Joyner, 51, of Charlotte, died February 16th, 2015 at CMC Main with his family at his side. Alvin was born in Charlotte, NC, on February 5, 1964, the son of William Conner Joyner and Peggy Joan Yandle Joyner. Gifted with the use of his hands, he was a building contractor and owned and operated his own business. While he enjoyed work, what he most loved were his family and his Lord and he will be missed by all who knew him. Alvin is survived by his wife, Michelle Smith; his mother, Peggy of Charlotte; four children: son Alvin William (wife Cindie) Joyner and their three children Alvin John, Luke Isaiah, and Mackenzie Paige, all of Charlotte; daughter Samantha L. (husband Chad) Rushing and their child Caleb Eugene all of Locust, NC; daughter Sarah Jane Joyner of Charlotte; and son Christopher B. Joyner of Charlotte. He is also survived by six siblings: Billy (wife Vicki) Joyner, Larry (Gail) Joyner, Jimmy (wife Sandy) Joyner, Teresa (husband Tim) Smith, Sheila Braddock, and Roger Driggers; his first wife, Stacey Joyner, who is still like family; and a special nephew, Jesse Smith. Alvin is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father; his stepfather, Robert Driggers; a son, Samuel Elliot; and three siblings: Robbie Driggers, Renee Kirby, and Ricky Driggers. Alvin’s family has given the privilege of caring for them to the family of Lowe-Neddo Funeral Home, 4715 Margaret Wallace Road, Matthews, NC 28105. Friends may call upon the family at the funeral home starting at 11:30 am on Friday, February 20, 2015. At 1 pm, all present will gather in the funeral home chapel for a Celebration of Life Service. When that is finished, all are welcome to join with the family in procession to Alvin’s final place of earthly rest at Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Road, Charlotte. The family would like to recognize and especially thank the following people who have been a blessing to Alvin: Buddy Dennis, Benny Helms, Tim Mills, and Pastor Matt Broadway.
