Anna Baucom Burr

Anna Jane Baucom Burr, 50, of Monroe, passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021, at Piedmont Newton Hospital in Covington, GA. Anna was born on February 26, 1971, in Charlotte, NC. She graduated from Independence High School in 1989, and from there went to Central Piedmont Community College. She later transferred to UNC-Charlotte where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education. In 2011 she attained a master’s degree in education from Ashford University. Anna loved teaching children and worked as a pre-school teacher at various locations, with the latest being at the YMCA recreation center on Kuykendall Road. Anna was very passionate about writing. She created a website for posting book reviews, author promotions, and events. She also read and edited early drafts directly for several published authors. Anna was preceded in her passing by her father, Henry Dwight Baucom, and is survived by her husband Stephen David Burr, her mother Gloria Howard Baucom, her sister Elizabeth, her brother and sister-in-law Howard and Debbie, her cousin who was like a brother to her Rodney Dellinger, her niece and nephew Heather and Johnathan, and also many other cousins, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She is also survived by her fur-babies Junebug, Big Boy, Henry, and Hazel, and by her feather-baby Penn. Her services will be conducted at Lowe-Neddo Funeral Home on June 7, 2021. Visitation will be at 1:00pm, with a service to follow at 2pm. Internment will be at Sunset Memorial Garden in Mint Hill, NC. Preacher Steve Triplett will be officiating.
