Please know this. - MawMaw Anne Nelson Collins" (Excerpted from her blog, November 26, 2007) Anne Nelson Collins, 69, of Myrtle Beach, SC, died unexpectedly on Monday, January 2, 2017, at the Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach. Anne was born in Charlotte, NC, on August 23, 1947, the only child of Paul and Juanita Belle McManus Nelson. She grew up in Charlotte on her parent’s farm in Mint Hill and graduated from East Mecklenburg High School in 1965. On August 25, 1981, she married Jeff Collins at Albermarle Road Baptist Church. She started her education at Mars Hill, transferred to Furman University where she earned her B.A. and then attained her Masters of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological University. She enjoyed many things in life. She and her husband Jeff had the KING SHAZAAM Tributes Show where they performed for parties, celebrations and corporate events. Dressing the parts, Jeff did celebrity vocal impersonations including Elvis while Anne would don the poodle skirt and play the part of the sock-hop fan. Anne had also been a Realtor, a real estate developer, teacher, foster parent, homeschool mom, caregiver, musician, secretary, bookkeeper and business owner. Most of all, she loved being a mom and grandmom as well as the time spent with family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her. Anne is survived by her husband, Jeff, of Myrtle Beach, SC; her daughter, Christy (husband Ryan) Miller of Indian Trail, NC; her son, Paul E. Collins of Concord; her granddaughters, Brittany E. Collins and Telyina “Telly” Miller; her mother-in-law, Barbara Collins and her father-in-law, Wade Collins. She is further survived by numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. Anne’s family has given the family of Lowe-Neddo Funeral Home the privilege of caring for them. Services celebrating the life, love and blessing of Anne will be held at 2 PM on Friday, January 6, 2017, in the funeral home chapel, 4715 Margaret Wallace Road, Matthews. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1 PM until time of services. A private interment will follow at Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte.
