Clifton Dow Russell

Clifton Dow Russell (Nenonkey), 52, joined his father Worth Slade Russell Jr (Squirrel), his mother Linda Knight Russell, and his sister Adona Bost in Heaven on January 25. 2021. Clifton was about looking after and caring for others. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force, a veteran who was referred to as “Chipmunk” while active in the military. Continuing his service to others, Clifton was also a former member of the Air National Guard and served as a Police Officer for both the City of Rock Hill and the City of York. When not working, Clifton loved watching NASCAR (he was a diehard Dale Earnhardt fan) and was a Loyal New Orleans Saints fan. He also loved to fish and cook. Most of all, Clifton loved the time spent with family and friends, and he enjoyed making others laugh. Caring for others to the very end, he spent his last years caring for his mother who suffered with Alzheimer’s. Clifton is survived by his brother Worth Slade Russell lll (Liz Russell); his children: Jessica Dale Russell (Keith Greene), Scarlet Victoria Russell, Dallas Cody Russell, and Gabriel Slade Allen. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren and a fiancé Patti Little. He was a beloved father, son, companion, friend and brother and will be missed by all that knew him including his dog, Little Jay. Clifton’s family has given the family of Lowe-Neddo Funeral Home the privilege of caring for him and for them. A graveside service with military honors honoring his memory will take place at 2 pm on Friday, January 29, 2021, at Charlotte Memorial Gardens, 7632 Hood Road, Charlotte.
