Clyde Howard Sanders Jr

Clyde Howard “HJ” Sanders Jr, 56, the fifth child of the late Clyde Howard Sanders Sr. and Delphine (Cotton) Sanders, passed away at this home on January 17, 2023, with his wife by his side. A native of Waterbury, Connecticut, he was a resident of Charlotte, North Carolina, for 15 years. Howard was a highly sought-after barber with over 33 years of expertise, having owned barbershops in Connecticut and North Carolina. A leader in the community, Howard created a non-profit organization called “From Our Family to Yours” with his wife. He also ran a curbing business, Natural Experience Curbing, throughout the Charlotte area. Howard was a talent of many things, having participated in broadcasting, DJ’ing, comedy and toastmasters, excelling in everything he did. A family man, Howard loved spending time with loved ones hosting annual 4th of July Cookouts and Thanksgiving food giveaways for five years and running. Howard was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Delphine Sanders; and his two brothers, William and Kenneth Sanders. Howard is survived and leaves to cherish his loving wife of 22 years, Shannon; his three sons, Dionne of Waterbury, CT, Malik of Danbury, CT, and Cyrus of Charlotte, NC; two brothers, Vincent (wife Roberta) of Raleigh, NC, and Leonard Sanders of Middletown, CT; one sister, Linda (husband Marcus) Fields of Waterbury, CT; one sister-in-law, Ladora Sanders of Charlotte, NC; and five grandchildren. Howard is further survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Howard’s family has given the family of Lowe-Neddo Funeral Home the privilege of caring for him and for them. As Howard was a lover of the outdoors, friends are welcome to gather with the family at 11 AM on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Skyline Terrace, 1601 W Trade St, Charlotte, NC 28216. At noon, an outside service honoring the life, love and blessing of Howard will take place there.
