David Wade Denning

David Wade Denning, 64, of Charlotte, unexpectedly left this world and joined his parents and older brother, John, in heaven on March 2, 2022. David was born in Albermarle, NC, on March 29, 1957, the son of John Thomas and Geraldine Curlee Denning. David Denning was a Christian man and member of Mount Olive Pentecostal Holiness Church. He had looked forward to his new life in heaven and joining his parents and older brother John Denning, Jr. there. It is his surviving friends and family who are heart broken with his loss here. He will be missed greatly. David was an avid Tar-Heel fan and loved to follow all their games. You could hear his laughter and loud encouragement with each play - all season, every season. He found joy and laughter in simple things. He had a love of gardening and spring was his favorite time of the year so he could see all the new blooms in his yard. Backyard cookouts with family and friends were a huge part of his joy. He loved us all! David was certainly a no-nonsense kind of man and it often seemed like his direct choice of words simply had no filter. But he was kind and thoughtful to. He was always so proud of his family and friends and each one that made his life the blessing it was. He wasn't perfect but did strive to be a better man each day. Life is a journey of ups and downs but there is no doubt David's journey has ended in a much better place called Heaven. David is survived by his former wife, Terri Penninger Denning; his son, Brian David Denning; his grandson, Jacob Douglas Denning; a sister, Catherine Denning Sams and her son: Joshua (wife Amelia) Sams; and his other sister, Anne Denning Myers and her children: Michael Morris and Becky (Bryan) Miller. David is further survived by his 2 best friends: Gary Best of Mount Olive and Steve DiStaola of Charlotte; as well as numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, John. David will be greatly missed. David's family has given the family of Lowe-Neddo Funeral Home the privilege of caring for him and for them. Services will be held at a later date and will be announced here.
