Doris "Weeble" Mae Denton

Doris Mae Morreale Denton, 83, of Charlotte, died Thursday, June 22, 2017. Under the blessing of hospice, she was able to be at home and in the presence of her loving family. Doris, or “Weeble” as she was nicknamed, was born on May 10, 1934, in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of Joseph and Elsie McCrodden Morreale. She grew up in Brooklyn and on December 11, married Donald Richard Denton. He preceded her in death on July 31, 1992. Together, they were blessed with a family and Doris was both a wife and a homemaker. Ten years ago she moved to Charlotte. She enjoyed many things including making dollhouse furniture, making chocolate and other candies, casino trips and travelling and crocheting. Most of all, she loved time spent with family, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends and she will be sadly missed by all who were blessed to know her. Doris is survived by her children: Donna (husband Charles “Buddy”) Auer of Charlotte, Donald Richard Denton Jr of Charlotte, and Dawn (husband Robert) Dimonti of Charlotte; grandchildren: David (wife Jenny) Auer, Steven Auer, Christopher Auer, Amanda Denton, April (husband Joel) Perez, Donald “DJ” Richard Denton III, Kimberly Denton, and Joseph (wife Allyson) Gibbs; and great grandchildren: Jayden, Jeremy, Nathan, Laila, Brittney, Samantha, Dakota, Autumn, Joel, Emmanuel, and Elaina Mae. Doris is further survived by her brother, Raymond (wife Linda) McCrodden, a great great grandchild yet to arrive, and numerous other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; a great granddaughter Kiara; a brother, Joseph and sister, Elsie Morreale Oberg. Doris’ family has given the family of Lowe-Neddo Funeral Home the privilege of caring for them. A gathering of friends and family will take place Saturday, June 24, from 1 pm until 3 pm in the funeral home chapel. At 3 pm, a service honoring the life, love and blessing of Ms. Doris will be held. All services will conclude at the funeral home that day.
