Edward Victor Stines

Edward Victor Stines, 69, of Mint Hill, NC, died June 4, 2016. Through the love and care of his family and hospice, he was able to be at home with his family at his side. Eddie was born in Charlotte, NC, on November 4, 1946, the son of Clent Edward Stines and Helen Hucks Stines. A 1965 graduate of Garinger High in Charlotte, Eddie was inducted into the US Army and faithfully served in the 9th Infantry Division in Vietnam before being honorably discharged in 1968. Gifted with the use of his hands, he worked as a welder, mechanic, repairman and fabricator. Eddie retired from East Coast Trailer Sales and Service but had previously worked at Fruehauf Trailer Corporation and Central Transport. A Christian and member of Wilson Grove Baptist Church, Eddie was active in the Royal Ambassadors and the annual Easter Sunrise Service Breakfast. He also enjoyed helping with the Christmas nativity scene. Most of all, Eddie enjoyed the time spent with his family and friends and he will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Eddie is survived by: a sister and brother-in-law Linda and Harold Duckett of Charlotte; a sister and brother-in-law Marlene and Guy Badger of Huntersville; a brother and sister-in-law Ray and Patty Stines of Lenoir; a brother and sister-in-law Gary and Kim Stines of Monroe; a sister and brother-in-law Darlene and Frank Allegretti of Atlanta; and nieces and nephews including Joshua Stines, Anna-Marie Stines, Helen Moss, Michelle Rogers, Brian Badger and Michelle Smith. He is further survived by numerous other relatives and friends. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Sylvia Allen Stines. Pastor Rob Mariucci will lead a service to celebrate the life of Eddie Stines at 2 pm on Tuesday, June 7, 2014, at Wilson Grove Baptist Church, 6624 Wilgrove-Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, NC. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Following the service, Eddie will be taken in formal procession to his final place of earthly rest at Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Road, Charlotte, where he will be entombed in the mausoleum next to his wife.
