Mrs Etta Kathleen Jordan

Etta Kathleen Jordan, 77, of Charlotte, died March 7, 2021, at Willow Ridge Assisted Living in Charlotte. Kathleen, as she normally went by, was born on February 25, 1944, the daughter of Ambrose Grady and Texie Walker Johnson. She graduated from Cove Creek High School in 1962, and then went on to attended beauty school after which she worked as a beautician. She met the love of her life, Mr. Roger Jordan, and the two were married in 1963. Later in life, she went on to work as an office manager for Compressor Services Company. Kathleen enjoyed many things in life including woodworking and creating crafts. One of her greatest passions was singing, and she could be found performing in everything from church services to weddings. On weekends, she enjoyed travelling around to various yard sales hunting for bargains, and when she could not be outside, doing word search puzzles. Most of all, Kathleen enjoyed the time spent with friends and family, including her church family at Mt Harmony Baptist Church. Kathleen is survived by her husband of 57 years, Roger; a son, Ryan Keith Jordan (Trish Wilson) of Zionville, NC; a son Eric Van Jordan of Charleston, WV; a daughter-in-law, Mary Jordan of Pawleys Island, SC; grandchildren: Jenny Martin, Philip (Jennifer Morell) Jordan, Alex Graham and Dylan Graham, Timothy Jordan and Zoee Jordan; great grandchildren: Elijah Copeny, Sean Jordan, Michael Jordan and Ava Ayres. She is further survived by her siblings: Zola West, Shirley Frierson, George “AG” Johnson, Lane Johnson, Carolyn Overholt, and her twin sister Maxine Beaver; her church family at Mt Harmony Baptist Church, and numerous other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Kathleen was preceded in death by a son, Michael Roger Jordan; a grandchild, Steven Jordan; and her siblings: Benny Johnson, Hermon Johnson, Merle George, Mary Johnson, Peggy Sutton and Mae Heath. Kathleen’s family has given the family of Lowe-Neddo Funeral Home the privilege of caring for her and for them. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 13, at Mt Harmony Baptist Church, 2817 Mt Harmony Church Road, Matthews. Visitation will begin at 10 AM with services to follow at 11 AM. Following the service, Kathleen will be taken to her final place of earthly rest in the Mt Harmony Church Cemetery.
