Evelyn Curlee

Evelyn Blair Harrington Curlee, 93, died on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at Pruitt Care Union Pointe in Monroe. Evelyn was born in Peachland, North Carolina, on May 27, 1928, the daughter of Fred and Ola Threadgill Harrington. She grew up there, graduating from high school. She married Loy Cantrell Curlee and had two children. She worked at Jordan Business Forms then JP Stevens but had to retire due to health reasons. She was a devoted wife, mom, grandmother and great grandmother. Evelyn was a wonderful cook and she was always cooking for family holidays and birthdays. She was a great crafter and she loved to shop. Evelyn is survived by daughter, Rose (husband Jim) Broome; granddaughter Crystal Newland, Nikki (husband Phil) Harris; grandson Brandon Lunceford; great grandchildren: Jamie, Seth, Drew,. Great great grandchildren: Donovan, Gianni, Novaleigh, Braylin, Leigha, Griffin. Sister Rachel Hinson and daughter in law, Lisa Curlee. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her son, Loy Kevin and her great granddaughter, Lauren. She was also preceded by her brother, Joe Harrington, and her sisters: Beatrice Davis Jerome and Mildred Williams. Evelyn’s family has given the family of Lowe-Neddo Funeral Home the privilege of caring for her and for them. Services will be held Thursday, January 20, at 11 AM at the funeral home, 4715 Margaret Wallace Road, Matthews, NC 28105. Interment to follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.
