F. Mark Stewart Jr

Frederick Mark Stewart Jr, 59, of Charlotte, died January 20, 2021, at Atrium Health Main Campus in Charlotte. Mark was born in Rock Hill, South Carolina, on November 6, 1961, the son of Frederick M. and Linda Carter Stewart Sr. He grew up in Rock Hill and graduated from Rock Hill High School. A gifted athlete, he was always found playing baseball and football during his school career. With a lifelong fascination for automobiles, Mark went into the automotive industry and was well known throughout the automotive families in the Charlotte metro region. He had last worked at East Charlotte Nissan before a disabling event forced his early retirement from his passion. When not working, Mark could be found enjoying listening to live music and sports, of which there will never be a larger SC Gamecock Fan. Anyone who knew him will never forget the rooster crowing when you called his cellphone. Most of all, Mark loved people, and spending time around family and friends. Mark is survived by his wife of 40 years, Kim Brown Stewart of Charlotte; three children: Christopher (wife Kristi) Stewart of Rock Hill, Mark Stewart of Charlotte, and Melissa Stewart of Charlotte. He is further survived by three grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mark’s family has given the family of Lowe-Neddo Funeral Home the privilege of caring for him and for them. A service celebrating the life, love and blessing of this special man will be held in the funeral home chapel, 4715 Margaret Wallace Road, Matthews, NC 28105, at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 30. Due to incredible number of friends Mark made in his life and the current restrictions due to COVID, in-person attendance will be limited to family.
