Faye Taylor Medford

On March 15, 2026, our world lost a bright, joyful, endlessly creative soul. Faye Taylor Medford, 69, of Huntersville, left this life surrounded by love, and we are holding tight to the memories she gave us. Faye was born in Lumberton on January 11, 1957, to James and Mabel Maynor Taylor, and from the very beginning she carried a spark that made people feel welcome, seen, and cared for. She built a career in banking and insurance—Hartford Insurance, Nations Bank, Southern National Bank—and she had a natural gift for computers long before most people were comfortable with them. She was smart, curious, and always willing to learn something new. But the heart of Faye’s life wasn’t found in offices or job titles. It was found in the things she created, the gatherings she hosted, and the people she loved. Halloween was her season—costumes, decorations, laughter, all crafted with her own hands. She loved cooking for a crowd, especially holiday dinners served buffet‑style so everyone could fill a plate and feel at home. Faye believed in togetherness. She believed in joy. She believed in making memories. Most of all, she believed in family. She adored her daughter, Michelle (Lonnie Craig) Taylor, and she poured her heart into her grandchildren—Lonnie Tristan Craig, Zachary Austin Crews, and Ariel Marie Crews—and her great‑grandchildren Achilles and Adrianna, along with two additional great‑grandchildren who brought her endless pride. Her sisters—Rhonda Taylor Bullard, Phyllis Taylor, and Avis Taylor—were her lifelong companions, and her circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends was wide and full of love. Faye is reunited now with her son, Billie Jo Medford Crews, and her sister, Sherry Taylor Rogers, whose memories she carried with her every day. Those who knew Faye will remember her warmth, her humor, her creativity, and the way she made every gathering feel like the best place in the world to be. She gave us traditions, stories, and moments we will hold onto for the rest of our lives. Visitation will be held at noon on Saturday, March 28, at Lowe‑Neddo Funeral Home, 4715 Margaret Wallace Road in Matthews, with a service following at 1:00 pm. Faye lived a life full of heart. We will miss her deeply, but her love lives on in every person she touched.
