Hannah Mae Abrams

Hannah Mae Abrams, 65, of Charlotte, died Monday, September 16, 2013, at the Jesse Helms Nursing Center in Monroe, NC. Hannah was born in Mobile, Alabama, on July 22, 1948, the daughter of Nellie Abrams. She moved to New York where she worked in the garment industry and raised her family. In October of 2010, she moved to Charlotte, NC. Hanna was a free spirit for whom it was always about the journey and not the destination. Nicknamed “25 Miles To Go”, she was known for her impromptu travels and one way tickets. In addition to travelling, Hannah enjoyed crocheting and talking on the phone. Most of all, Hannah loved her family with an unmatched passion and intensity and she will be sadly missed by them and all who knew her. Hannah is survived by her five children: Erroll (wife, Venetta) Holloway of Columbus, Ohio; Cindy (husband, Talib) Saahir of Charlotte, NC; Angela (husband, Rev. Robert) Newell of Roanoke Rapids, NC; Pamela (husband, Emerson) Myvett of Matthews, NC; and Sol (wife, Khalilah) Perry of Middleton, New York. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren: Erroll Jr, Leroy, Lawrence, Tiffany, Dontario, Dante, Marcus, Jasmine, Antonio, Jamila, Shaniece, Aneetra, Star’Janay, and Damon; five great grandchildren; four brothers: Samuel Abrams, Leon Abrams, Thomas Abrams, and Rayfield Abrams; and two sisters, Deborah Abrams and Janie Huntley. Hannah is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother; an infant son, Franki; and two brothers, John Abrams and Lee Davis Abrams. The family welcomes you to join with them in remembering their mother and celebrating the blessing she was to all who knew her. A service of remembrance will be held at 2 PM on Friday, September 20, 2013, in the chapel of Lowe-Neddo Funeral Home. Visitors will be received by the family at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
