Please visit Ingrid's story on her battle with cancer at http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/ingridlindahl Ingrid Cristina Lindahl, Mrs. Kevin Yount, 41, of Matthews, died Monday, May 6, 2013, at Presbyterian Novant Hospital in Charlotte after courageously battling ovarian cancer for the last 18 months. Ingrid was born in Cali, Colombia, on November 8, 1971, the daughter of George and Maria Cristina (Cagiao) Lindahl. She graduated from Florida International University with a degree in psychology. After moving to Charlotte, Ingrid was blessed to find her soul mate, Kevin. She always assured her dear ones that her dad had sent him. They were married on May 28, 2011. Ingrid was diagnosed w/ ovarian cancer seven months later. Even though their time together was too short, their years were filled with tremendous joy and happiness. Ingrid and Kevin knew her cancer would take her too early. They still thank God for the precious time they had. In caring service to others, Ingrid was a case worker for The ARC of North Carolina. Ingrid cherished her precious time with Kevin enjoying hiking trips to the North Carolina mountains, white daisies, and spending time with her dogs, Tasy and Ginger. Most of all, Ingrid loved her faith and her family. She was a member of Saint John Neumann Catholic Church in Charlotte. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. . Ingrid is survived by her husband, Kevin Yount; two stepchildren, Daniel and Ian Yount; her mother, Maria Cristina Lindahl; her brother, Erick Lindahl and his wife Alejandra; her aunt and uncle Rose Marie and Mario Carvajal; and three cousins, Carolina (and husband, Richard) Latorre, Ana Maria Carvajal, and Gustavo Carvajal. She is further survived by numerous other family members, church family members, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father George Lindahl. A Mass of Christian Burial led by Father Pat Hoare will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, May 8, at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 8451 Idlewild Rd, Charlotte. The family will receive guests at the church one hour prior to the mass. Services will conclude at the church and all are welcome after the mass to join with the family in the church hall for fellowship.
