Jean Pratt Brewer

Jean Pratt Brewer, 79, of Indian Trail, NC, died on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at Novant Health Matthews Campus. Jean was born in Rockingham on March 2, 1943, the daughter of Millard and Gaynelle Wyand Pratt. She grew up in Rockingham, graduating from Rohanen High School. She then attended Queens College in Charlotte before working as a rate clerk for various trucking companies until ultimately working for and retiring from Roadway. When not working, she enjoyed traveling and going out to eat with her friends. When she couldn’t get out of the house, she enjoyed cooking and watching Dateline. Most of all, she loved the time spent with family and friends. Ms. Jean met a charming young man by the name of Bill Brewer. They married and were blessed with two children. Bill preceded Jean in death in 2008. Jean is survived by her son William “Bo” Brewer of Matthews, her daughter Kelly (husband David) Canup Jr. of Monroe, NC; a granddaughter, Kasey (Tracy Revis) Canup of Monroe; a great grandson Kolby Revis; and a brother, Don (wife Carol) Pratt of Rockingham, NC. She is further survived by her special niece, June (husband Dale) Hawks; a special nephew Randy Grant; as well as numerous other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband, Jean was preceded in death by parents; and her siblings: Robert, Ann, Betty and Millard “Bud”. Jean’s family has given the family of Lowe-Neddo Funeral Home, 4715 Margaret Wallace Road, Matthews the privilege of caring for her and for them. Services are set for Saturday, July 30, at 12PM at the funeral home chapel with the family to receive friends there one hour prior.
