Kevin Lee Stevenson

Kevin Lee Stevenson, 58, of Matthews, died Tuesday, August 2, 2016, at the Levine and Dickson Hospice House at Southminster in Pineville, NC. The Stevenson family has given the family of Lowe-Neddo Funeral Home the privilege of caring for them. Visitation will take place Saturday, August 6, 2016, from 5 to 8 PM at the funeral home, 4715 Margaret Wallace Road, Matthews, NC 28105. Services will be held in the funeral home chapel at 10 AM on Sunday, August 7, with visitation held again from 9 AM until the service. Kevin Stevenson was born on May 5th 1958 in Brooklyn New York, to the late Parnell Stevenson and Stella Stevenson. He was educated in the New York public school system, graduating from Franklin K. Lane High School. Kevin was the third oldest of five siblings; one of whom, Thomas Hinson, preceded him in death. Kevin was a mild mannered young man. He was dependable and loving and had a great sense of humor. Kevin accepted the Lord at a very young age. From the very beginning he was loyal and committed to ministry. No day was too long or night too short for Kevin when it came to the service of his leader, his aunt and Pastor, Mother Apostle Callie Mae Jasper... Many people consider Kevin to have been the greatest armor bearer there ever was. There’s no way to describe the dedication and commitment he exhibited. He taught many saints the principles of armor bearing and they are using the same principles they learned from him to this very day. Kevin was loved by many he befriended. It didn’t matter what color, cultural background, or age. Kevin was a “people” person. Kevin married Cereas McDuffie on February 8th, 1978. From this union came three sons; Kevin Stevenson Jr, Kenneth Stevenson and Kendall Stevenson. After having served many years as a deacon at Holy City Ministries in New York, Kevin migrated to Sumpter SC Where he served at Holy City Ministries under The Apostle Jeffrey Jasper. He later moved to Charlotte NC where he served as an Elder and Prophet under the leadership of Apostles Bernie and Diane van Buren, at Prophetic Destiny Kingdom Embassy. At this time his health had declined, but his faith never waned, and he continued to stand in the ministry of the prophetic. On Tuesday morning, August 2, 2016 precisely at 7:45 AM Kevin graduated beyond this earthly realm to now stand in the presence of the Lord. He leaves to mourn his wife, Cereas Stevenson, his son, Kevin Stevenson Jr and his fiancée Melissa Hartzell, , his son, Kenneth Stevenson and his wife Erica Stevenson along with their three children; Laila, Gabrielle and Ayden, his son Kendall Stevenson and his wife Andrea Stevenson along with their four children; his daughter’s Kayla Coston, Faith Coston, his sister Valerie Levant and her husband Victor Levant of Brooklyn NY; his sister April Stevenson of Oceanside California; his sister Claire Willis-Baker and her husband Gregory Baker of Staten Island NY ; two Aunts, Pastor Girzine Taylor of Brooklyn NY and Mother Apostle Callie Mae Jasper of Queens NY ; his Uncle William Hinson of Florida; his nephew Anthony Rice, niece Yolanda (Dondi) Rice, nephew Michael Willis, niece Octavia Willis, niece Jareema Donaldson, nephew Phillip Gary “special daughter” Vernita Bolton and a host of other nieces, nephews relatives and special friends.
