Michael John Stephon

Michael John Stephon age 51 of Mint Hill, NC, lost his battle with Cancer on Thursday morning January 12, at Novant Presbyterian Main. Michael was born March 12,1966 in Erie, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on January 12,2018 in Charlotte,NC. He precedes his mother, Geraldine Faye Stephon, and brother, Mark Stephon, who reside in Dillon, Montana, along with his sister, Lisa Hughes, who resides in Charlotte, NC. Michael was always full of life. He was always up for a challenge, especially when it came to running. This was his true passion in life. He loved to run. All three of us siblings were involved in sports, especially track. He ran cross country while his brother and I ran shorter distances. He always pushed himself to the limit and beyond, always striving for the best that he could be. It would be nothing for him to run 15 miles a night even after working all day. Even in sub zero weather, it never stopped him. He ran the Ledville 50 and 100 mile race in Colorado. He also had a phenomenal voice. He sang and danced at the Grand Ol' Opry. His brother and I always would tell him that he stole our ability to carry a tune. We always loved watching scary movies. He always enjoyed the opportunity to try and scare us when he had a chance. He was definitely the comedian of the family. He always had a very quit wit about him. He always knew what to say at any given moment. He was also a financial wizard. He could do with numbers that no one else could due to his financial background. His love for animals goes without saying. He would even feed outside strays just to be sure they had something to eat. He felt compelled to take care of them, just as he loved his beloved dog, Aubrey. Michael was an awesome lil' brother. All three of us have always been very close, even as we got older. We always encouraged each other in all that we did. We always kept in touch through the miles between us. We always told each other "I love you" at the end of every phone conversation, not ever good-bye. We have been so grateful to have Michael in our lives as a brother and son. We will surely miss his great smile and quick wit. Michael, you are truly at peace with the angels and God almighty. May you run your race without any finish line to cross to stop you. You will always be remembered for all that you were and the love that we all shared. You made such a difference in our lives. Until we meet again. Forever in our hearts. Private Service to be held.
