The family will be receiving friends at Lowe-Neddo Funeral Home, 4715 Margaret Wallace Rd., Matthews, NC 28105, on Tuesday, March 24, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The graveside service will be held at Crown Memorial Park, 9620 Rodney St., Pineville, NC 28134 at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers please send donations to The Alzheimer’s Research Foundation, https://www.alzinfo.org/donate/donation_form/ Richard lived his life the way he wanted to. He did not follow anyone’s rules. As anyone who knew him, you knew that he was set in his ways but he was loved and respected by everyone. To all of his family and friends, he was not a fancy person and wouldn’t expect any of his friends or family to be either, so come as you are. Richard was born on October 14th 1952, to Karl C. and Lillian I. Poston, in Charlotte, North Carolina. He worked most of his life as an automobile mechanic. He worked many years for Robert Spivey as such. The latter part of his life, he was a self-educated computer tech. Although he would never charge anyone, he would get their computers up in running in no time. He even taught people at the local cable company a few things. He was preceded in death by his parents mentioned above and one brother Bobby Poston, of Marietta, Georgia. Richard is survived by his wife, Debra Poston; his son, Thomas Poston and his wife Rebecca and their daughter Sarah; his daughter Elizabeth Poston and her fiancé Damion Jackson and their son, Liam; and his daughter Marie Moss and her fiancé Alan Rhyne, all of Charlotte, NC. He is also survived by his brother Tracy Foley of Mt. Holly, NC, and his brother Jaime Madison, of Charlotte, NC. Richard would also like to remember his closest friends, Robert and Gina McFarland of Belmont, NC, John and Sheila Ross of Fort Mill, SC, Richard Moss of Nashville, NC and Francis Rhyne of Charlotte, NC. Thank you for keeping the Poston family in your thoughts and prayers during this time. Your thoughts, prayers, and acts of kindness whether done or yet to be, are deeply appreciated.
