Sadie Luearl Triplett

Sadie Luearl Triplett, 95, of Matthews, entered into the heavenly kingdom on Monday, January 16, 2017. Born in Winston County, Mississippi, on May 25, 1921, Sadie was the oldest daughter and second oldest child born to Abraham Lincoln Triplett and Bertha Geneta Lewis. She grew up there and in 1960, she moved to Chicago where she spent most of her adult life. A devout reader of her Bible, she gave her life to God and accepted Christ at Mt Calvary Baptist Church in Noxapater, Mississippi. Later while living in Chicago, she joined the Garfield Park Baptist Church. She worked in food service, was a cook in a nursing home and volunteered in the kitchens of public schools as well. In September 2012, she and her daughter, Lynnie, along with Lynnie’s family, moved to Charlotte to be closer to Carolyn. She enjoyed word search puzzles, which she did up until six months ago. Sadie was known to be able to complete a whole book of them in a day. What she enjoyed most, however, was the time spent with family and friends and keeping up with her host of grand, great grand, and great great grandchildren. She will be missed by all who were blessed to know her beautiful spirit. Sadie is survived by two daughters: Carolyn Morgan of Charlotte and Lynnie (Lester) Truss of Matthews; grandchildren Kimberly Weissmann of Charlotte, Karin Bird (Ken) of Kenner, LA, Kevin Stafford (Debra) of Portage, MI, and Andre Triplett of Chicago, IL; great grandchildren Jessica Weissmann of Charlotte, Kenzington Bird of Kenner, Alisha Matthias (Rashad) of Murfreesboro, TN, Dominic Ritsema & Danielle Ritsema of Portage, MI, and great great grandchildren Aria and Alivia Matthias of Murfreesboro. She is further survived by one brother, Charles Lincoln Triplett of Chicago; nieces and nephews Clara Woodbridge (Eugene) of Carlisle, PA, Marilyn Young of Chicago, Wanda (Paul) Clark of Flagler Beach, FL, Ramona Pozek (Giuseppe “Joe”) of Chicago and Rita Simmons of Chicago. Sadie is further survived by a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, and five brothers. Sadie’s family has given the family of Lowe-Neddo Funeral Home the privilege of caring for them. A celebration to celebrate the life, love and blessing of Sadie will be held at 11 AM on Monday, January 23, 2017, at the funeral home, 4715 Margaret Wallace Road. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 AM until the time of service. Following the service, Ms. Sadie will be taken in formal procession to her final place of earthly rest at Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Road, Charlotte, NC 28227.
