Samuel Magliocca

Samuel Magliocca, age 88, passed away on March 10, 2024 at Novant Health Medical Center in Matthews, NC. He was born on September 23, 1935, in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania to Simeon and Natalina Carricata Magliocca. Sam graduated from Hillsborough High School, Tampa, Florida. Sam was employed by Sears, Roebuck and Co while in high school. After graduating high school in 1953, Sam started his 53-year career in the building industry. He was employed by Air Control Products, which was later renamed Keller Building Products of Charlotte, Inc. He moved from Tampa to Birmingham to Charlotte, NC with the company. He worked his way up starting out as a warehouse manager to becoming the owner and president in May 1991. Sam was exceptionally proud of the work his company did providing and installing windows, doors, cabinets, cabinet tops and flooring for residential homes in both NC and SC. On August 6, 1955, Sam married his wife, Mary Lou Williams, at The Church of the Good Shepherd in Wilmington, NC. Together, they raised two sons: Michael Wayne Magliocca and Richard Alan Magliocca Sr. Sam’s life of caring for others extended out from his own family. A resident of Mint Lake Village 21 years, he chose to serve as a board member on the HOA and his faithful, hard-working service earned him the alias of “The Energizer Bunny”. Sam enjoyed helping and spending time with his family, attending church at Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Charlotte, playing golf, coaching, working out at the gym and watching UNC Tarheels basketball. Sam had an infectious smile, generous heart and always eager to help others. He was dependable, reliable and a hard worker. He will be both fondly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew him. Family left to cherish his memory are his wife Mary; his children, Mike (wife Sherry) and Rick (wife Kristen); his four grandchildren, Nick (wife Tonya), Tony (wife Emily), Alan (wife Esther) and Lauren (fiancé Billy); his seven great-grandchildren, Carter, Cara, Elijah, Nico, Gabriela, Harrison and Rico. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, six sisters and one great grandchild, Greyson. Before his death, Sam had chosen to give the family of Lowe-Neddo Funeral Home the privilege of caring for him and his family. At this time, no formal services have been scheduled.
