Sharon Patricia Flynn

Sharon Patricia Flynn, 78, of Charlotte, died unexpectedly at her home on December 18, 2019. Sharon was born in Calgary, Canada, on March 20, 1941, the daughter of Donald and Marjorie Merle Stott Flynn. Her father was in the Royal Canadian Air Force so Sharon and her family travelled the country as her father was rotated through his military duty stations. While in Toronto, she met Thomas Sansone, an American, whom she went on to marry in 1968. She joined him in the United States and in 1974, he preceded her in death. In 1978, Sharon and her family came to Charlotte, North Carolina. Blessed with a talent to use her hands and decorate, Sharon owned and operated her own wallpaper business for many years. When not working, she loved to do most anything. From gardening to sewing, golf to bowling, she enjoyed all life had to offer. She also enjoyed being around people and would recall fondly her time on “Let’s Make a Deal” out in California as well as “Bowling for Dollars” in Charlotte. When not being a gameshow contestant, she still loved to watch them, her favorites included “Wheel of Fortune”, “Jeopardy” and “Price is Right”. Also an avid reader, she could be found with a good book when she wanted a quieter time. Most of all, she loved the time spent with family and friends. Survivors include Sharon’s son, Michael (wife Susie) McDaniel of Hoodsport, Washington and their two children: Michael Shane McDaniel and his children Jacob, Caleb and Henry; and Matthew John McDaniel and his daughter Lilith Jean; Sharon’s daughter, Jennifer (husband Wayne) McClellan of Charlotte, NC, and their three children: Thomas (wife Sarah) McClellan and children Jackson and Christopher of Charlotte, NC; Spc. Brandon McClellan, US Army, of Fort Lewis, Washington; and Laurin (husband Troy) Hunter and children Lucy and Talyn of Charlotte, NC; and Sharon’s daughter, Camille (husband Lee) Cruse and their children Sienna and Silas of Charlotte, NC. Sharon is further survived by two brothers: Michael Flynn of Vancouver, BC, and Patrick “Pat” Flynn of Nanaimo, BC; as well as numerous other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations in Sharon's name be made to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, online at https://imaginationlibrary.com A service honoring the life, love and legacy of Sharon will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, December 28, at the Living Faith Baptist Church, 8600 Hood Road, Charlotte, NC 28215. Sharon’s family has given the privilege of caring for her and for them to the family of Lowe-Neddo Funeral Home.
