Rev Charles Stacy Beasley Sr

December 21, 1920 - October 2, 2016

Rev. Charles Stacy Beasley, Sr, 95, of Charlotte, NC, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2016, at the Mecklenburg Healthcare Center at 2415 Sandy Porter Road, Charlotte. Charles was born in Dunn, NC, on December 21, 1920. He married Eva Pearl Matthews Beasley and they spent over 71 years together. When the United States called upon its citizens to serve in World War II, Charles answered the call. Faithfully serving in the United States Army, he was stationed in Europe and a participant in the famous Battle of the Bulge. Upon his honorable discharge, he returned to farming and construction. Charles was also in the ministry, working for our Heavenly Father God. He loved to sing and in recent years as people came into the nursing home to visit, he always had them singing “Won’t It Be Wonderful There” along with him. Most of all, Charles loved the time spent with family and friends and he will be sadly missed by all who were truly blessed to know this spiritual man. Charles is survived by his seven children: Charles (wife Shirley) Beasley Jr, William F (wife Jean) Beasley Sr, Janice (husband Troy) McAuley, Doris M (husband Sonny) Horne, Sylvia Jean Beasley, Larry T (wife Barbara) Beasley and John (wife Barbara) Thrower. He is further survived by a brother, Marvin F. Beasley; 30 grandchildren, 58 great grandchildren, 30 great great grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Eva, brothers and sisters, and also some grandchildren. Services honoring the life, love and blessing of Charles will be held at 2 pm, Wednesday, October 5, 2016, in the chapel of Lowe-Neddo Funeral Home, 4715 Margaret Wallace Road, Matthews, NC 28105. Friends may call upon the family at the funeral home from noon until the time of service. Following the service, all are invited to join the family in a formal procession to Sharon Memorial Park where Charles will be laid in his final earthly place of rest next to his wife, Eva. On behalf of the family, thank you for your thoughts, prayers and acts of kindness, both those done and those yet to be. Please take a moment to share a memory or photo with the family on Charles’ Tribute Wall.
