Collie Jean Willison

Collie Jean Willison, 87, of Matthews, North Carolina, died Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at the Hospice of Union County in Monroe, North Carolina. Jean was born in Waynesville, North Carolina, on April 20, 1933, the only child of Robert and Anna Goodson Reece. She grew up there and graduated from Waynesville High School in 1952. She continued her schooling at Queens College in Charlotte and Blanton’s Business College in Asheville, NC. Jean went on to work in the banking industry with the Bank of Charlotte for many years before retiring. When not working, Jean enjoyed doing most anything outside. She enjoyed gardening and walking on the beach. When the weather sent her inside, she enjoyed going shopping. Most of all, she enjoyed the time spent with family and friends. Jean is survived by two daughters: Jeanne (husband Leo) Boswell of Burlington, NC, and Nancy Auton of Mint Hill; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Jean is preceded in death by her husband, Myron, in 1997; and a daughter, Debbie Josephine Dicus. Jean’s family has given the family of Lowe-Neddo Funeral Home the privilege of caring for her and for them. Private graveside services were held at Magnolia Memorial Gardens on the grounds of Calvary Church in Charlotte.
