Cynthia Haislip

May 17, 1952 - January 14, 2022

Cynthia Diane Haislip, 69, of Charlotte, died on January 14, 2022, at Novant Health in Matthews. Cindy was born in Charlotte on May 17, 1952, the daughter of Floyd and Mary Frances Taylor Bailey. She grew up in Charlotte, graduating from Independence High School. She attended CPCC and took a job with Duke Power. She worked her way to the position of Data Analyst before ultimately retiring. When not working, she enjoyed going to the beach and lighthouses. Cindy was also an avid reader who enjoyed making jewelry, cross stitching, talking to her neighbors and though now politically incorrect, rooting for the “Washington Redskins” (she would never call them the WFT). She had a strong passion for animals, often finding that pets gave her a purpose. Cindy always had a green thumb and loved caring for plants. A Christian, she tried her best to follow the teachings of her Lord and Savior, and she enjoyed watching “The Chosen” television series. Cindy also loved her friends and neighbors at Villa East and still kept in touch with some of her coworkers from Duke Power. Cindy is survived by her two sons: Jamie (wife Amy) Haislip and their children: Madison, Skylar, Ethan and Landon; and Brian (wife Jenny) Haislip and their children: Noah and Jacob. She is also survived by her brother, Pat Bailey, and her sister, Brenda Kelly. Cindy is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. Her family has given the family of Lowe-Neddo Funeral Home the privilege of caring for her and for them. Services will be held at 4 pm on Thursday, January 20, 2022, in the funeral home chapel, 4715 Margaret Wallace Road, Matthews, NC 28105. In honor of her love of animals, the family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, online at https://www.aspca.org/ OR to the local animal shelter/rescue of your choice.
