Dennis Larmer
March 2, 1956 - February 8, 2022
Dennis Larmer, 65, of Charlotte, North Carolina crossed the golden bridge in the early morning on February 8, 2022. Dennis was born March 2, 1956 in Syracuse, New York, the son of Carlton and Audrey Larmer. He answered his country’s call to service and faithfully served in the United States Navy. Following his honorable discharge, Dennis helped build many of the buildings around downtown Syracuse and downtown Charlotte during his career in construction work and he was very vocal about which buildings he had a part in. He spent most of his life taking care of animals and his family. Dennis loved motorcycles, old muscle cars, cigars, Jim Beam, Hank Williams Jr, Taylor Swift, NCIS, old western movies, gangster movies, Cheech & Chong and red meat. Most of all, he loved the time spent with family and friends. Dennis is survived by his wife of 42 years Penelope (Penny) Larmer; his daughter Amanda (husband Michael); 3 grandchildren: Amber, Alexis and Dennis Jr; his 3 cats: Smokey, Luna and Willow Jean; the family dog, Daisy Mae; and his spirit animal, Ralph the bearded dragon. He is further survived by numerous other relatives and friends. Dennis’ family has given the family of Lowe-Neddo Funeral Home the privilege of caring for him and for them. Friends are welcome to join the family and the US Navy Honor Detail at 2 pm on Friday, February 11, 2022, for a military tribute and service celebrating his life in the funeral home chapel, 4715 Margaret Wallace Road, Matthews, NC, 28105. All are invited to not only attend, but also to prepare a favorite memory of Dennis to share during the service. If unable to attend in person, you can view the livestream at the link below. The family will then receive friends at the funeral home after the service.
