Miss Jade Olyvia Tidewell
October 30, 2013 - December 18, 2016
Miss Jade Olyvia Tidwell, age 3, gained her angel wings on Sunday December 18th in the comfort of her own home surrounded by family and loved ones. She dealt with kidney disease and chronic illness her entire life, gracefully and with more strength than most could fathom. For a girl of only 3 short years, Miss Jade touched the lives of countless individuals through her courage and her ability to shine despite her many health challenges. She was a miracle child from the moment she was born, and while her family is heartbroken they also know that they have been blessed for having had the opportunity to know her and experience the joy she brought to the world. Her smile and huge personality were contagious and she could make even the most serious individuals break out in laughter. For Jade's family, quality of life took precedence and Jade lived a happy life. She surely endured a lot but she did not suffer. Countless happy memories and moments were experienced with Jade that will be treasured forever. Jade leaves behind her "Mama Dear" and "Doo Doo" Alysia and Johnny Tidwell, one sister Raivyn Tidwell, as well has her MeMe and Papa, Linda and Joey Biddix of Fort Mill, her Grandma Mousie and Grandpa Alfonso of Charlotte, her Grandpa Wayne and Grandma Donna of Guilford, CT, her one and only "Dunkle" Lawrence Bartling of Charlotte, her auntie "MoMo" Morgan Davis-Thorne who resided with the family, as well as an extremely large family from both Mom and Dad full of many more loving Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. Jade also leaves behind her amazing medical family at Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte, namely the Pediatric Dialysis Unit and the 8th floor Pediatric Progressive Unit. There are too many wonderful people who cared for Jade and made an impact on the family to list them all, but the ones Jade always called for by name were Kandi, Claire, Zoë, Mekia, and Tasha. Dr. Charles McKay, Jade's nephrologist, took excellent care of Jade (and Jade's Mommy) from the time she was in her mother's womb until she left this earth. Special thanks to Dr. Annabelle Chua of Duke Medical Center, who was both a part of Jades care team as well as a special friend. Calling hours will be held at Lowe-Neddo Funeral Home, 4715 Margaret Wallace Road Charlotte, from 7 to 9 PM on December 19th and a home-going celebration will be planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jade's memory can be made to Give Kids the World Village in Kissimmee, Florida.
