Loyde William Roberts

December 29, 1951 - April 16, 2019

Loyde William Roberts, 67, of Charlotte, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at the Levine and Dickson Hospice House with his family at his side. Loyde is survived by his loving wife, Jane Crosby Roberts of 36 years, and two sons, Brian and Will (Tara) both of Charlotte, and his beloved dog, George. He is also survived by his grandchildren Tanner, Brianna, Marissa, Dillon, Liam, and Emma, sister, Vickie Gandy (Jim) of Statesville, NC, brother-in-law Steve Crosby (Linda) of Darlington, SC, and a sister-in-law Linda Roberts. He was preceded in death by his brother Charles Lawton Roberts and his parents Margaret Thornton and Charles James Roberts. Loyde was born December 29, 1951 in Waycross, Georgia. He and his family eventually moved to Charlotte, where he graduated from East Mecklenburg High School. He and Jane got married December 3, 1982. He worked at Family Dollar Corporate Center in Matthews for 32 years. Loyde loved cars, camping, the North Carolina mountains, and spending his time at Calvary Church of the Nazarene teaching in Caravan,(a children's group), being the head usher and serving on the board. His family will receive friends at Calvary Church of the Nazarene, 4000 N Sharon Amity Rd, Charlotte, on Wednesday, April 17, at 7pm. A graveside service will take place at Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Rd, Mint Hill on Thursday, April 18 at 11am. Please keep the Roberts family in your mind, heart and prayers.
