Mircha Moraru

April 26, 1931 - November 9, 2016

Mircha Moraru, 85, of Indian Trail, died Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at Union Point Healthcare in Monroe, NC. Mircha was born in Chernivtsi, Ukraine, on April 26, 1931, the son of Theodore and Euphrosinya Hnatyuk Moraru. He married Anastasia Viunik and in 1992, they moved to the United States. Anastasia preceded him in death in 1994. In 2000, he married Elizabeth Gojia, who also preceded him in death in 2010. Mircha enjoyed reading the bible, playing the keyboard and organ, painting and singing. He was a faithful member of Church of Salvation on Marglyn Drive and his favorite scripture was Isaiah 53:4-5. Most of all, Mircha loved the time spent with his family, church family and friends and he will be missed by all who knew him. Mircha is survived by a son, Sergey (wife Galina) Moraru of Indian Trail; four grandchildren: Larisa (husband Vitaly) Glibitskiy of Stallings and their children Samson and Aria; Diana Moraru of Indian Trail and her son Ezekiel; Taya (husband Mark) Kubiatowicz of Monroe and their son Maximus; and Nellie Moraru of Indian Trail. In addition, Mircha is survived by his siblings: Lidiya, Viorel, Kornil, Zinoviya and Anna and a great grandchild yet to arrive. He is further survived by his church family and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mircha was preceded in death by his parents, his two wives, and a brother, Marin. Visitation will be held from 7 - 9 pm on Friday, November 11, at Church of Salvation, 1924 Marglyn Drive, Matthews. Funeral services led by Pastor Veaceslav Pascal will be held Saturday morning at 10 AM at the Lowe-Neddo Funeral Home Chapel, 4715 Margaret Wallace Road, Matthews. Following the funeral, all are welcome to join with the family in taking Mircha to his final place of rest at Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Road, Charlotte.
