Patricia Pierce Burkheimer
January 7, 1935 - August 24, 2016
The celebration of Patricia Pierce Burkheimer began on January 7, 1935, as her parents Samuel and Ruby Pierce and her brother Sam welcomed her with a celebraton of life and love, as they do now again. Years passed through Charleston, WV, and then the University of Cincinnati where she began her career. She started in modeling then moved into buying and ultimately, sales. In 1962, she welcomed her daughter, Michelle “Misha” Krinsky-Doty, with an outpouring of love and support. 15 years later she found her soulmate of 39 years, Jerry Burkheimer. Pat was a big sports fan, especially of college basketball and pro football. In addition to supporting Marshall and the Mountaineers from her West Virginia roots, she also pulled for Ohio State and the Cincinnati Bearcats. Of course, attending school with Oscar "Big O" Robertson didn't hurt when cheering for her alma mater either. She came from a family of native West Virginians with a proud Scottish heritage and direct lineage to President Wilson. Pat enjoyed not only living in various places, but loved learning the historical significance of where she lived, even more so if it was related to the Civil War. Pat also enjoyed knitting, puzzles, and needlepoint. What she most loved, however, was the time spent with family and friends and she will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Michelle, her husband Jimmy, their son James, and her husband Jerry would like to invite you to celebrate the life, love and blessing that was “Pat”. Friends are invited to gather with the family starting at 1:00 pm at the Lowe-Neddo Funeral Home on Saturday, September 3, 2016. At 2 pm, all present will join in the funeral home chapel where the Celebration of Life, Love and Blessing of Pat will continue. Please take a moment to visit Pat’s online tribute wall and share a memory or photo with the family.
