Patricia Ann Snyder

July 11, 1936 - March 27, 2018

Mrs. Patricia Ann “Pat” Snyder, 81, of Charlotte, NC, departed this life on March 27, 2018. Through the blessing of hospice, she was able to be at home and surrounded by family when she passed. Pat was born in Richwood, WV, on July 11, 1936, the first born daughter of Owen K. and Irene G. Brown Lemley. She attended Buckhannon Upshur High School and was a member of Freedom Baptist Church in Nutter Fort, WV. On June 21, 1953, she married Richard Paul Snyder at the First Baptist Church of Buckhannon, WV, with Reverend Robert Gillert officiating. Their first married years were spent in Warren, Ohio, before moving back to West Virginia where they settled in Elkins. Later they relocated to Clarksburg and then Bridgeport where Pat was employed at LaRosa Fuel for over 30 years. After retiring, they moved to Florida for a brief time before returning once again to West Virginia. In 2002, they moved to Charlotte to be closer to their daughter. Pat enjoyed many things in life. She loved to cook and bake. Pat was also an avid reader, worked crossword puzzles and enjoyed travel. She and her husband enjoyed seeing the world and Mexico, Sweden, Monaco and Las Vegas where just some of the places that held cherished memories. Most of all, Pat loved the time spent with family and friends and she will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Pat is survived by her husband, Richard “Dick” Snyder; their daughter, Lisa Dawn Snyder; and one grandson, Zachary Paul Snyder-Hanson. Pat is further survived by her three sisters: Sandra Sue (husband Terry) Boni of Charleroi, PA; Karon (husband Ross) King of Buckhannon, WV; and Lynelle Lemley of Daleville, VA; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her first born child. Pat’s family has given the family of Lowe-Neddo Funeral Home the privilege of caring for them and for her. Pat’s wish was to be cremated and to have a memorial service in Clarksburg. Plans for this service in Clarksburg are tentatively being set for May 26th and May 27th, and will be announced when finalized.
