Ryder Douglas Brown
January 14, 2010 - December 17, 2021
Ryder Douglas Brown, 11, of Charlotte, passed unexpectedly on December 12, 2021, in Charlotte. Ryder was born in Charlotte on January 14, 2010. Suffering a stroke shortly after he was born, Ryder took the physical challenge and turned it into the sweet, caring boy and young man he grew up to become. He had a really great laugh and when he smiled, his entire face would light up. His joy was genuine and he made those around him joyous with his innocence. It was that realness and sheer truth to his joy and laughter that gave him a magnetic personality. When you knew him, you could not help but feel the joy he felt and be amazed at the size of his personality. Ryder enjoyed many things in life, including his little “dance parties” as his sister would call the times when he would raise his arm and dance. When times got hard, he would turn to “his owl”, a little vibrating toy that brought him comfort. When the toy company later changed the owl to a hedgehog, there were actually people across many states searching for the old owl design to ensure Ryder had his owl. Most of all, Ryder loved to be around people, especially his family, and most importantly, his mother and the snuggles he shared with her. Ryder is survived by his mother, Melissa; his twin Daeton; his older brother, Tristin; his older sister, Dasia; his nana, Karen Ryan; his uncle, Bobby (wife Jen) Ryan and their children: Devon (Emily), Beckham and Channing; and his great aunt, Laurie (Jim) Ryan and their children: Michael, Connor and Danny. Ryder is further survived by numerous other family members and friends including his biological father, Dennis Brown. Ryder was preceded in death by his grandfather, Bob Ryan, and his uncle, Shaun Ryan. Ryder’s family has given the family of Lowe-Neddo Funeral Home the privilege of caring for him and for them. Services were held.
