Sandra Jean Michaud

October 24, 1949 - February 23, 2022

In the early morning of February 23rd, 2022, Sandra Jean Michaud entered the glory of the Father and son, Jesus Christ. Born on October 24th, 1949 in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, Sandi spent her the first part of life growing up with her parents Ted and Dotty Adamczyk and her brother, Jack. Since childhood, Sandi had a love for God and music. She had a gifted singing voice to praise Him with a most joyful sound! Sandi fell in love with her husband, John Michaud and they were married June 30, 1972. Shortly after the birth of their son, Joe, John and Sandi moved to Bristol, Connecticut where they would live and raise a family. Soon thereafter, their daughter Becky was born. Sandi worked in the insurance industry for many years but her voice and desire to use it to worship God was her hallmark. When her children were young, Sandi re-entered college at the University of Hartford’s HARTT School of Music were she further refined her voice and opera training. After graduation, Sandi continued to sing in a variety of churches, recitals and any other chance that came her way. Notably, she was hired as the lead vocalists at the United Methodist Church in West Hartford, CT. Sandi’s dream to sing for the Lord with all of her heart was sustained for many years. She also served in Youth Ministry with her husband by leading the Children’s Choir. Sandi’s voice was so big and bright that no microphone was needed to hear her! A while after John and Sandi moved to Matthews, NC in 2016, Sandi was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Nonetheless, even as she declined in health and cognition, she continued to praise Jesus! She also showed love and kindness to everyone she met. When the nurses and CNA’s provided care at the hospitals, memory care, rehab & long term care, she told them all she loved them and how wonderful they were, even taking their hands and kissing them over & over. She blessed everyone at church or the memory care facility with her voice!! She had a joyful heart, full of gratitude and love that shined with the Holy Spirit! Jesus and Family were everything to her. Sandi adored and is survived by her husband John of 50 years this June, her children (Joe Michaud and Becky Leger), their spouses (Delanie Michaud and Amy Guzie), and 4 grandchildren (Noah & Ryan Michaud; Emma & Leo Leger). And, of course, her sweet dog Cassie. She is also survived by her brother Jack Adamczyk (Naples, FL.). A celebration of Sandi's life will be held at a later date.
