Shirley Paskan Lesslie

June 26, 1937 - June 19, 2021

Shirley Mae Paskan Lesslie passed away June 19, 2021 surrounded by loving family members and friends. Daughter of Ana Chabal and John Paskan, she was born on June 26, 1937 in Cleveland Ohio. She is survived by 5 children, 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews who love her and will miss her. She received her BS in nursing and worked in the cardiac unit at Presbyterian Hospital. She received her Master’s degree and then began teaching at Presbyterian School of Nursing and later, Mercy School of Nursing. She was an exceptional nurse and teacher, showing her devotion to her patients and her students. She was a member of Mint Hill ARP church, and was involved with the women of the church and had many friends there who will miss her. After she retired, she enjoyed camping at the beach, going out to eat at her favorite restaurants, Trio’s and Americana. She always liked being around members of her family and enjoyed the laughter we all shared. In her later years she enjoyed watching the Hallmark channel and had fun wearing her Hallmark socks and the many other fun socks that she got from relatives. She was very generous with her giving and some of her favorite charities were Doctors Without Borders, Alzheimer’s charities, and Special Olympics among others. To celebrate her life, a gathering of friends and family will be held at Lowe-Neddo funeral home, 4715 Margaret Wallace Rd, Matthews, NC, 28105 on Sat June 26.
