Shirley Shiver Wade

April 9, 1936 - April 14, 2022

Shirley Esther Shiver Wade entered Heaven on April 14, 2022. She was born in Dublin, Georgia, on April 9, 1936. Shirley was the daughter of the late Richard Shiver and Velma Welch. Being an only child, she grew very close to her Aunts, Uncles and cousins. Family names such as Holliday, Gay, Page, and Browning were a rich part of her childhood. Shirley married the love of her life, the late Joseph Conrad Wade, in 1956. They moved to North Carolina and settled in Charlotte in 1965. She enjoyed working for WICA Chemicals for over 15 years and then Barclay’s American Credit for over 25 years. Through those years they were active members of Northside Baptist Church and Calvary Church of Charlotte. Shirley and Joe were married for 47 years. The loss of her husband was difficult for her. She spoke of him often. Shirley is survived by two sons, Jimmy (Patty) of Waxhaw, North Carolina and Van (Cathy) of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She was Grandma and MawMaw to Tyler Wade, Taylor Anne Wade, and Greyson Wade (Caroline - fiancee). Shirley is survived by her Georgia family, Jan (Larry) Holliday Byrd, Don (Vondell) Holliday, Tom (Mary Ann) Holliday and Daisy Cone and sisters-in-law Barbara Ann Carbon and Freda Wade. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, April 18, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Forest Hill Church, Waxhaw Campus, 8120 Kensington Drive, Waxhaw, North Carolina, 28173.
