Susan Moir Copeland Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Susan Carol Moir Copeland, 77, of Cornelius, died Wednesday, October 30, 2019, at the Novant Medical Center in Huntersville. Susan was born in Duluth, Minnesota, on July 31, 1944, the daughter of Gilbert and Maxine Bailand Moir. She grew up in Minnesota, and in 1962, she married William Copeland. They spent time between Charlotte, North Carolina and Minnesota, where her husband had an semi repair and frame business. In 1995, they moved to Charlotte permanently. Susan was a devout Catholic and enjoyed many things in life such as sweets, desserts, iPad casino style games and playing cards. Most of all, she loved the time spent with family and friends. Susan is survived by a son, William (wife Wendy) Copeland of Cornelius and their son, Anthony; three sisters: Patty Mahan and Kelly (husband Jerry) Rothman of Duluth, MN, and Jeanie Bryant of Seattle, WA; and a brother, Greg (wife Lisa) Moir of Duluth. Susan is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, William, in January of 2019. Susan’s family has given the family of Lowe-Neddo Funeral Home the privilege of caring for her and for them. There will be a gathering of friends and family and service on Tuesday, November 12, at the funeral home, 4715 Margaret Wallace Road, Matthews, NC 28105. Visitation will begin at noon followed by a service at 1 pm. Following the service, all are invited to make their way to the Forest Lawn West where a graveside service will be held and Susan will be laid to rest next to her husband, William.
