Donald Earnest McClelland Born on March 19, 1965, passed away on May 6, 2021 at Novant Heath in Matthews, NC. Don was 56 years old. He resided at 1701 Cal Bost Rd in Midland, NC. Born in Springfield, MA, native to Boston, Donald found his way to Charlotte, NC where he resided for the duration of his life. Two years after moving to Charlotte, Donald founded and operated Aqua Clear Pools. Donald also went to work for UPS where he spent twenty years before his recent retirement. When not working, Donald enjoyed sports. He was an avid sport enthusiast and true to many sport organizations, especially his New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox. He was also known to enjoy a good whiskey and a good cigar. Most of all, Donald loved the time spent with family and friends. Donald leaves behind his mother, Madeleine McNutt; his stepfather, Thomas McNutt; his adopted father, Stuart McClelland; three brothers: Robert McClelland (fiancé Shawna Turner), Michael McClelland (wife Marriane Horvath) and Richard McClelland (wife Renee McClelland); a stepbrother Mathew McNutt (wife Victoria McNutt); a stepsister Ryan McNutt (husband Gene McAnulty Jr.); his uncles: John Geer and Wayne Geer; and his aunt, Susan Stiglich (husband Jim Stiglich). Donald is further survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and so many wonderful friends. He will be greatly missed by all whose lives were blessed to know him. Donald's family has given the family of Lowe-Neddo Funeral Home the privilege of caring for him and for them. A Celebration of Donald's Life will be held at 3 pm on Wednesday, May 12, in the funeral home chapel, 4715 Margaret Wallace Road, Matthews, NC 28105. The family will receive friends from 2 pm until the time of service. All services will conclude at the funeral home. Social distancing and masks will be required for attendance. The service will also be live-streamed with the link to do so being posted here the day of the service.
